Asa Peats Landscape Design LLC (APLD), based in Hope, Maine, specializes in site planning, stormwater management, ecological restoration, landscape design, and architecture. Drawing inspiration from the local works of legendary landscape architects such as Frederick Law Olmsted Sr. and Jr., Warren Manning, Fletcher Steele, and Hans Heistad, Asa’s style combines an appreciation for the ecology and history of the midcoast with modern design and construction techniques. He tastefully uses computer graphics and hand drawings to create plans, perspective renderings and construction details. His youthful energy and honesty have led to strong relationships with local homeowners, architects, general contractors, masons, gardeners, surveyors and engineers. Asa continues the longstanding legacy of design in the midcoast, an area embedded with a deep history of landscape architecture.

Asa Peats Landscape Design

Asa Peats was born and raised in Camden, starting his own landscape and gardening business at the age of 13. Tending beautiful coastal gardens sparked his interest and knowledge of the mid-coast vernacular. After graduating from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in Landscape Architecture, Asa maintained the grounds of the Dodge Estate on Beauchamp Point in Rockport, Maine. There, he was very fortunate to develop his plant knowledge while exposed to the colonial revival landscape.
Since founding APLD in 2013, Asa has focused on designing spaces that highlight natural and built features, while honoring the wishes and goals of each client.
